Homeward to Womanhood Philosophy School

Countercultural lessons from the lost wisdom of Timeless Womanhood for women who are ready to go from living up to every modern feminist ideal to returning to what they were really created for.

So let me guess.

You’re probably disillusioned by girlboss culture, disappointed by where modern ideals of womanhood have led and disenchanted by the never-ending pep talks about “self-empowerment” coming at you from every inspirational quote and influencer alive.

After all, you’ve conquered. Achieved. “Had it all”. Yet strangely, you’re still restless. And spiritually exhausted.

Perhaps you’ve been told that being a wife and mother isn’t enough that you need to have a successful career, big dreams, limitless desires and a daily dose of “Yes to JOY!” to justify the pursuit for fulfillment.

Or maybe you did the wife-and-mother thing but were sold the idea that you were “missing out,” that you should be “living your truth,” that you “deserve better” and freedom was just one divorce away.

Now you’re probably looking at the hyper-independent, equality-obsessed, self-worshipping culture around you and quietly wondering:

Is THIS supposed to be the dream?

No, it isn’t.

And you’re not crazy.

You’re waking up.

Welcome, ladies. I’m Shana.

Many years ago, I was a feminist academic. I was convinced that independence was the highest virtue, traditional roles were outdated, breadwinning was a flex, being a #bossbabe solopreneur would be the dream and a woman’s worth was basically her illustrious résumé of achievements outside the home.

Eventually (and rather unsurprisingly), I got a divorce and became a single mom.

What followed was bitterness, exhaustion and loneliness so deep that no amount of empowering “you go, girl” slogans or self-love affirmations could fix it. The whole journey was messy, complicated but wildly humbling.

In trying to liberate myself, I’d exiled my soul from the sacred.

Sure, rejecting age-old truths about womanhood offers the illusion of freedom but true liberation lies in living them.

Then I felt the subtlest invitation in my heart:

Come home.

To faith, marriage, family and the ways of the feminine that feel right to the mind, body and spirit.

Today, as a recovering feminist, I’m a reconciled wife to the same man I fell in love with 15 years ago (yes, we eloped, got hitched, divorced, reunited and remarried!) and a stay-at-home mom to our son with special needs.

Truth be told, I’m a walking cautionary tale.

Someone who lived up to every modern prescription for womanhood, faced its consequences, realized they were broken and chose to start over... the old-fashioned way.

Now, in between cleaning chocolate fingerprints off the walls and finding mysteriously lost socks, I help other women just like you do the same.

Here at Homeward to Womanhood Philosophy School, we’re flipping the script.

The philosophy of Timeless Womanhood, which we explore here at the school, is a quiet rebellion against the modern narratives that have stripped womanhood of its essence, slowly erasing femininity.

What if, instead of fighting our nature, we worked with it?

What if reclaiming our sacred femininity was the key to rediscovering the timeless roles we were meant for?

We cut through modern myths and rediscover our foremothers’ wisdom about the mystery of the feminine rooted in the Divine Designer’s intention for womanhood.

We rebuild lives grounded in faith, family and the unshakable truth that women were designed for companionship, connection, creativity, childbearing (and raising!), caretaking and a graceful softness the world could use more of.

This is a soul-deep re-education for women who are DONE being told that:

Homeward to Womanhood

Bite-sized (and absolutely biting!) countercultural lectures on femininity, faith, marriage and homemaking as a spiritual, timeless practice where we occasionally question if being “empowered” just turned us into exhausted control freaks. And by the way, “submission” isn’t really a bad word in our books.

Turning Homeward

Tiny essays and podcasts full of honest reflections and quiet contemplations on the messy, beautiful, occasionally peanut-butter-stained process of reclaiming Timeless Womanhood through marriage, motherhood and keeping home as an act of creativity (and maybe a little chaos).
